It’s time to release our chains in exchange for freedom.
We all have a story—things we’ve been through, struggles that left a mark, and moments that shaped us. In the beginning, that story helps us make sense of it all. It gives us language for our pain, allowing us to process what happened. However, over time, if we’re not careful, that story can shift. Instead of serving as a stepping stone, it becomes our excuse, our crutch, and even our shield. Before we know it, we’re cleaving to the very thing that’s been holding us back.
That heartbreak, that betrayal, that loss—yes, it happened. And yes, it mattered. Even so, it does not have to define you. The enemy would love for you to stay stuck there, replaying it over and over, making it the reason you can’t move forward. But here’s the truth: God calls you to leave and cleave—to leave behind the weight of what was and cling to what is good (Romans 12:9).
In this episode, we’re unpacking:
✔️ How our stories slowly morph into sob stories that keep us stuck
✔️ Subtle ways we cling to pain instead of God’s promises
✔️ Recognizing the enemy’s strategy to keep you bound to your past
✔️ How to break free and cleave to Christ instead
Your past may have shaped you, but it does not own you. Now is the time to stop cleaving to the wounds and start cleaving to the One who heals.
Key Scripture: Romans 12:9 – “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.”
